Position: Bilingual Housing Advocate

Reporting Office: Bishop, CA

Job Type: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

Pay Range: $25.00 to $28.74

Benefits: Employee retirement with employer contributions, medical insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick accruals.

(Benefits available after successful completion 30 to 90-day waiting period.)

 

 

Job Description: This position is primarily responsible for providing advocacy and support services driven by client-identified needs and goals to those who have been affected by domestic violence or sex trafficking and are currently homeless or are in jeopardy of being homeless. Remote work may be available based on program and client needs. This is a mandated reporting position. Reports to the DV/SA Programs Coordinator.

 

                              

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.

  • High School diploma or equivalency.

  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to use a computer and proficiency with Microsoft Office; willing to learn industry-specific software.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in both individual and team settings.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and deal appropriately with crisis and stress situations.

  • Willing to undergo to a live scan background check.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, related field or equivalent life experience.

  • Two years of experience with a similar agency performing similar or transferable duties.

  • Completion of the Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence Counselor training pursuant to California Evidence Code, Article 8.7, Section 1037.1

 

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure the safety and security of Transitional Housing campus and residents.

  • Inspect Transitional Housing units, facilities, and property to ensure Transitional Housing guidelines are being met.

  • Provide voluntary ongoing case management to Transitional Housing residents.

  • Facilitate Transitional Housing application process and assist with resident move-ins/move-outs.

  • Assist clients in accessing government benefits, transportation, household establishment items, and life skills.

  • Organize activities, groups, or classes for residents at Transitional Housing facility.

  • Provide crisis intervention services for Transitional Housing clients.

  • Available to work after-hours 24-hour crisis line shifts and provide office coverage as needed in Inyo and Mono Counties.

  • Provide culturally sensitive services and work with representatives of underserved communities.

Position: Bilingual Supervised Visitation Monitor

Reporting Office: Bishop, CA

Pay Range: $25.00-$28.74                

Job Type: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

(Benefits available after successful completion of introductory period.)

 

Job Description: This position is primarily responsible for providing a safe, secure environment, physically and emotionally, for children receiving supervised visits with a Spanish-speaking non-custodial parent. Remote work may be available based on program needs. This is a mandated reporting position. Reports to CASA Program Manager. 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.

  • High School diploma or equivalency. Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Available to work some after-hours or weekend times in office and community settings in Inyo and Mono Counties as needed to accommodate the needs of families receiving supervised visits (no in-home visits).

  • Ability to use a computer and proficiency with Office 365 and learn industry specific software.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Willing to undergo a live scan background check; have no current or past court order in which the provider is or has been the person being supervised.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of experience with a similar agency.

  • At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties.

  • Completion of training in The Uniform Standards of Practice for providers of Supervised Visitation (Judicial Council Standard 5.20, Family Code section 3200 and 3200.5).

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Supervise visits of non-custodial parents and promote the best interest of the children.

  • Adhere to all visitation requirements set forth in court orders.

  • Remain neutral with all parties.

  • Enforce Supervised Visitation rules and intervene as necessary to correct behavior or terminate the visit.

  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the visitation site during visits.

  • Provide concise written observation reports and make them available as requested to all parties assigned to the case including custodial and non-custodial parents, court, lawyers, and social workers.

  • Receive referrals from Health and Human Services and/or Courts in Inyo and Mono Counties; perform intakes.

  • Ensure language access during visitation for all family members.

  • Certificate of completion of training in The Uniform Standards of Practice for providers of Supervised Visitation. This training is provided by Wild Iris.

 

 

Position: Bilingual Hotline Advocate

Reporting Office: Bishop, CA

Pay Range: $25.00-$28.74                

Job Type: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt

Benefits: Employee retirement with employer contributions, medical insurance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick accruals.

(Benefits available after successful completion of introductory period.)

 

Job Description: Provides crisis intervention services outside of office hours and weekends to clients who have been affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. May work from home if scheduled outside of normal office hours. This is not a mandated reporting position. Reports to DV/SA Programs Coordinator. 

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish

  • High School diploma or equivalency.

  • Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

  • Ability to use a computer and proficiency with Office 365 and learn industry specific software.

  • Willing to undergo to a live scan background check.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties.

  • Respond to walk in clients or hotline calls needing immediate assistance with issues relating to domestic violence and sexual assault.

  • Provide crisis intervention services for persons directly or indirectly experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault.

  • Available to work after-hours shifts on 24-hour crisis line.

Position: Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Staff Advocate

Reporting Office: Bishop, CA

Pay Range: $26.25-$32.55                

Job Type: Full-Time, hourly, non-exempt

Job Description: The CASA Coordinator assists CASA staff and volunteers in the day-to-day operations and with special projects as well as provide advocacy for CASA youth. This is a mandated reporting position. May supervise volunteers. Reports to CASA Program Manager.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalency and at least 21 years of age.

  • At least one year of experience performing similar or transferable duties.

  • Highly computer literate. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Willing to learn industry specific client-based software.

  • Able to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation.

  • Must be willing to undergo a live scan background check.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development or related field.

  • Experience with child welfare system and knowledge of related laws, or experience with court systems.

  • Experience managing volunteers and/or doing professional training.

  • HIGHLY PREFERRED: Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of CASA volunteers.

  • Maintain program databases including entering case and volunteer information and preparing reports.

  • Assist with the organization of, and participate in, events and activities which increase awareness and community investment in the program and recruitment.

  • Advocate for youth in community settings such as court, school, social services, and medical appointments.

  • Write court reports based on the best interest of the youth and attend scheduled court hearings.
